Types of Commercial Refrigeration Units

They are exposed to the ambient air of the supermarket but employ a “curtain of air” which is a vertical blowing air unit which separates them from the temperature of the ambient air, thereby keeping the products fresh. These types of cases are kept between 36 and 38 degrees fahrenheit.
Medium Temperature Produce Cases – These cases often house produce and other fresh foods. They are also kept between 36 and 38 degrees fahrenheit.
Fish and Seafood Refrigeration – These ambient, exposed cases use higher temperatures and are often coupled with ice pellets to keep the produce fresh and smelling great. It is critical that these temperatures stay cold or else the produce may go rancid
Meat and Butchery Refrigeration – These medium to low temperature units can be horizontal or vertical, depending on your preference. They need to be kept very cold. Even a variant of a couple degrees can leave poultry or other meats spoiled.
Closed Door Cases – These types of cases often house ice cream and other frozen perishables. They need to be kept at minus 12 degrees fahrenheit for a closed case, or minus 24 for an open air case.
